Solving Equations To Find The Roots

When faced with an equation that looks like this x^2 + 5x +6 = 0

We find the roots of the equation

This can be easily done by factoring out the equation

x^2 +5x+ 6 = 0 changes to (x+2) (x+3)= 0

Now that we have factored it we can find the roots by making every bracket equal 0

x+2 =0              x+3 = 0

x+2-2= 0-2       x+3-3=0-3

x= -2                x= -3

So the roots of the equations are -2 and -3
